Mood: depressed
To start this off, I have to stress that it’s not a case of us being completely innocent victims. I hate that idea of people passing themselves off as completely innocent of any wrongdoing; Alpine Meadows has been pulling that with us for the past few weeks. So I’m not going to try that myself. We were in the wrong. We didn’t pay our rent and didn’t have the courage to ask for help when it could have been easily given. And we were evicted because of it. That being said, I feel that our treatment at the hands of Alpine Meadows, the courts, and the realtors at First Choice Mobile Home Sales was completely deplorable. We’re not criminals, we’re not trash. We’re people who just happen to be poor. This entry is kind of rambling and VERY long (9 pages, 3873 words). I broke it up into pages to keep it straight. (Lj cuts if you’re reading it there.) I’ll include dates and times so we can stay clear about the timeline, since I do tend to jump around a little bit.

I’m feeling strangely hyper and nostalgic right now, which is really odd, I suppose. Avatar:The Last Airbender: Is it disturbing when a 25 year old woman finds a kid’s cartoon sexy? Just watched an episode I taped where Prince Zuko was fighting Admiral Zhao, shirts off, feet and fire flying. And strangely, I found that whole sequence unbelievably sexy. (Maybe it’s the nipples *shrugs*) Hell, Zuko is supposed to be 16 and he’s my favorite character. Thank goodness he’s a cartoon character or else this would be really bad. XD On the Neighbors: If our next door neighbor’s kids scream right outside my bedroom window ONE more time -!!! Nice kids, but I think they scream more than they talk. On Echo: My cat is in heat AGAIN. If I wasn’t already there, I’d say she’s driving me crazy. Fireworks: Buy fireworks? Please — those piddley little things? Nothing beats the experience of display fireworks. Plus, you’re not having to pay for them out of pocket. ^__^ Misc: I need to wash my hair. A haircut would be nice too. Avatar again: Is it wrong to be rewinding the tape just so I can see Admiral Zhao and Prince Zuko fight again? (Mmm… realistic muscles and NIPPLES!) Nostalgia: I dunno why I’m doing this, but I keep going through the Internet Archive just to see if I can’t dredge up old blog posts so I can keep them. But if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have lost them in the first place. College: I think I can safely say that this post has been brought to you by college. Improve your brain - Hah! Melt it to slag is more like it. ^_^;; LiveJournal: I wonder if anyone’s told them yet how ugly their styles are. ^^;; Can’t find anything I really like Much love to all of you! (And don’t worry, I’m sure I won’t be threatening anyone’s bishie collections anytime soon.)

Well, we’re back. ^_^ I’ve missed blogging so badly, so bare with me as I summarize several weeks worth of blogging. lol The move went smoother than expected, though Mom’s spent enough time screeching today to unpleasantly remind me of the Freaks. We got cable TV and internet today at about 11am, so we’re back online for good. Letme tell you, though…. that Comcast guy was a friggin moron. I had to tell him several times that I already HAD a Cable Modem and Ethernet Card. He was all set to rip my machine open and pop in a $30 ethernet card, when all I needed was to be actually connected. (Aka “Gimme the damn disk before I have to hurt someone.”) And he comes in bringing all kinds of cable when the connections that come up through the floor are nearly 8 feet long. Anyway, now all our TVs are hooked up for the first time in years and I’m on a faster connection than I’ve been on… aside from the really fast ones at college in the labs. The During that time, somehow, Mom’s forgotten how to use the remote other than to blast things she thinks we should desperately hear and to surf the channels as gratuitously as any guy. So she hits one stupid button and then it’s “SALLY, GET OUT HERE!” in the most aggravating tone of voice she can muster. She’s also become a great one for complaining that she has to exercise, but then when I invite her to walk she turns me down. I suppose this is just a sign she’s going to let her weight go again. I also warned her that we needed to set up a checking account in order to get our internet phone, which she conviently ignored. The moment it wouldn’t work, we had trashtalk Comcast time. (Yes, I know… I still think their guys are idiots, so I can’t talk.) However, she also spent a huge amount of time calling Jass and I out to see this or that on a Cable channel we never had before. *sigh* My mom’s juvenille antics aside, the move has felt more like a vacation than the horrible amount of work it usually does. The usual nightmares never sat in and we’ve chruned through most of the boxes. What’s left is pretty much contingent on other things. Such as my new computer desk, a new entertainment center, or to be put away into cupboards, etc. The girls are settling in well, though a week ago we had a bit of a scare. Our back door doesn’t latch very well, so unless it’s locked there’s a high probability that even a draft can open it. And when it unlatches, it not only opens… it swings wide open. Well… about a week ago, it happened and we weren’t aware that it had happened. Echo slipped out of it and was gone for about an hour before we noticed. Five hours of frantic searching went by before my baby was home. Since then, Kaze has been very clingy to all of us, but especially Echo and I. In fact, she wakes me up in the morning at about 7:30am and then has to have a cuddle session before I can do anything. If I don’t cuddle her, I might as well forget about walking because she’ll trip me. XD I can’t say Echo has been avoiding the door, but so far she hasn’t had any interest in going outside… so hopefully that escape will be the last. Where was I…. oh yeah… the move.

End of Week 4 with Echo. Damn, they grow fast at this age. X_x She’s now about 7 weeks old and is a regular pest. We’re already having the evening crazies and she’s jumping and running like a pro now. She’s getting long and strong! Her eyes have changed to the most gorgeous gray-green color, too. She simply adores chomping my nose with every ounce of strength in her body and playing with Luna. Surprisingly enough, after that first week with her, she hasn’t scratched any of us since. She’s using the litterbox like a pro, even covering her waste on her own. She’s also left the dish we’d been feeding her in and is using a normal double-sided kitty dish. She’s not taking a bath in her food anymore, but still manages to get it all over her face. So the baths continue. My adventures in kitten proofing has continued as she’s found more and more she can mess around with. My bed is one of her favorite places to play now. She’s learned that blankets are good to sleep under and that bed skirts do not a barrier make. (We have to watch our feet when we walk by our beds, particularly me) All the exposed cords are either taped down, ran through toilet paper tubes, paper towel tubes, or through narrow tubes of printer paper. Luna is really great with her. She has yet to hurt Echo, which is wild, given how easily she hurts Jasson and I in play. She likes “biting” Echo’s paws, which is really just taking one of her paws in her lips - no teeth involved at all -, playing tag, or poking her with her nose and retracting before Echo can swipe at her. I feel a little guilty: Luna has been my puppy since I brought her home and now I have to pay so much attention to little Echo. I really need to just break down and call Sterner Veterinary Clinic; I’ve been resisting since it cost us about $100 last year for just Heartworm and now she needs ALL her shots. Still need to get Echo into the Vet’s too; she’s about due for her first shots now too. But Sterner’s is the ONLY vet clinic in this retarded little town and they’re super expensive. The new space is up and I have most everything transferred over. After the last time I tried to move the fanfiction script, in which I lost everything, I was really expecting worse… instead, after I got over my fear, it transferred without a hitch. I know I warned everyone to have it ready by the 10th, but after it went over so easily I decided to do it now. Fanart is another story, that I lost everything and now that server is down so I can’t continue my manual transfer. -_-;; I didn’t bother saving anything in the Oekaki; I figure I’ll advertise on Bender’s board and the RL… maybe Gaia too and get some activity. Now just to see that the domain has been renewed. They received my money at about 2:14pm EST today, so hopefully this weekend or Monday they’ll renew my domain and then next week I’ll change my nameservers and update my domain info. 12 - 72 hours later, Lunaescence.com should point to the new server. Still nothing on the house. The showing today didn’t happen; around 5pm they called and canceled. We’ve had it. We’re getting really close to calling a couple companies that buy houses and asking them to buy ours. There isn’t many houses in our price range, so we keep 1:22 am

*hugs* Thank you so much, Kate! I’ll have to take you up on the offer. In case you read here first, I’ll be dropping you an e-mail in the morning or tomorrow afternoon. End of Day 3 with my new kitten, Echo. I found out some information about little Echo after the fact. First off, her mother was a feral or semi-feral cat who had the babies in the cab of a truck belonging to the family who owns the property - which happens to be under construction. They only noticed the kittens two weeks before I was given the call. >_> Three days before they called me, the queen moved the kittens into the actual construction site and into harms’ way. The kittens (3 females, 1 male) were found in a dangerous area and were promptly removed for the own safety. I was given the smallest kitten of the litter, supposedly. Fast forward to this weekend. Lets just say it’s been… fun. Baths after each and every meal, stimulation so she’ll go potty before and immediately after meals, making certain she’s properly hydrated, and kept warm at all times. Saturday was really rough for me; I ended up calling Mom in tears and telling her I couldn’t handle kitten and my diabetes at once. A couple days with plenty of help from her and Jass have really helped my outlook, fortunately. Well, that and the moments where she takes a nap on my chest or plays with my fingers. Now that I have her, I do think she’s a bit older than the two weeks I was quoted. I think she’s closer to 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old, possibly slightly more. Her ears are mostly standing up, all her baby incisors and canine teeth are in, she’s washing her face, legs, and paws on her own, but she’s still uncertain on her feet, though she has been trying a wobbly run from time to time. She’s also beginning to use the litter (shoe)box. Her aim could use some work, but she’s trying. XD While she still wants to nurse, she’s eating her wet-food really well - though always smearing it all over herself. The owners had been giving her regular cow’s milk, so I picked up a feline milk replacer, which I’ve been giving to her on a very shallow, stable dish or mixed in with her food for extra moisture. Today, I offered her that same container with some room-temperature water in it to see what she’d do. I almost cheered when she took a few hesitant laps. *smiles* Through this all, Luna has been a huge help. While she has never had a litter of her own, she promptly adopted Echo. She hears Echo meow and she’s right there to nuzzle or lick her. (Though she hasn’t been letting Echo snuggle since she tried nursing from her that one time! XD) She even insists on checking on her before she does anything else in the morning and before she’ll go to bed. For her part, the kitten doesn’t seem at all threatened by that huge monster I call a dog, in fact she tries following her around whenever possible. After all this, I’ve decided not to pursue kitten #2, though. One baby at a time is enough for me. |
