Taking a cue from Jasson, I decided to make a mirror site for my blog here. ^_^ Pretty quick I’ll link it up to my Bio page or something; since I really should fix all the links to my friends pages and well, stuff.

And in other news, back to work on the site redesign. I’m beginning to plan out the new look for the Library. Actually, I’m contemplating my rules again.

I’ve been spending quite a large amount of time trying to advertise Lunaescence, and I am getting more traffic. However, the Library has pretty much ground to a halt.

I’m honestly wondering if my rules are simply too strict for my audience. On the flip side, I really don’t want my page becoming a haven for garbage and ego stroking - plus, from feedback from some of my authors, they want my rules to remain in place or else they’d stop posting. I feel like I’m stuck between Scylla and Charybdis, in some ways.

I know I should be patient, but - seriously - I am not a good one to wait. What patience I had evaporated waiting for the house to sell. Despite the fact that I’m moved (and have been for almost 2 months now) I’m finding myself stuck in high gear.

*shakes her head* I can be so dumb sometimes. I just spent some time catching up on the important phone calls, such as to my doctor to talk about my progress keeping my bloodsugar low (I was at 80 mg/dl yesterday morning before breakfast - which is where a normal person should be), my Diabetes Educator, and then to the guy who runs the A+ Certification Class. (Back to the drawing board on how to pay for it! This school doesn’t get much funding.) Thing is, I did fine talking with my Doctor and Diabetes Educator, but I got to the A+ class and… I began stammering. I’m serious!!! I probably sounded like a Valley Girl. I suppose I was expecting a discussion of the course like at college, but instead it was more along the lines of questions - which I didn’t have.

Slowly people are joining my archive, so Jasson and I are happy. ^_^ Random people are joining the Gallery too, so I’m going to give skinning it my all and see if I can’t get it fitted in with the rest of the site. I found some nice - and surprisingly useful mods - I’m going to try too. What’s even more surprising is that Crim’s fics seem to be drawing a decent amount of people to the site. Top Referring Search Engine Phrases are all looking for Crim’s “Arise on the Occasion” - which is just cool. ^_^ 25+ hits on just “Crimson Productions” She’ll be a famous author yet!! Mark my words! One day, we’ll all look back and be able to say we knew her in the old days. ^_~ Also, speaking of great news, have you heard about the house Crim’s found? Woo! Lucky!! Congratulations!!!

What else… what else… what else? *ponders* Found one home plan that would only cost us $173,000 to build - now if only we could get our credit repaired and find decent jobs… ^_^ Oh well, gotta keep looking to the horizon - no matter how far away!

Well, I’m really proud of myself today. ^_^ Over the course of this afternoon, I cleaned up the basement and put together one of those cheap metal shelving systems. I goofed up near the end, it leaned pretty badly, but after fixing some of the supports, it stood right up nicely. I also took the bottled water down one gallon at a time, so I had to take the stairs multiple times. In the process of doing all that, my after-dinner bloodsugar was down at a record 199 mg/dL! *cheers* So that’s pretty good. I’ve been in the mid - upper 200s for the past couple weeks, so this is really a breakthrough. So long as I behave (as in no refrigerator grazing), it should even be lower tomorrow morning for my fasting bloodsugar test.

I also found some sugar-free Pop (soda) that didn’t contain Aspartame, but rather Sucralose - which tastes more like sugar than Aspartame. I also found more candy that tastes really great, so my chocolate-monkey won’t be riding me so badly now. XD Only side effect to the sugar substitute they used in the chocolate is that it’ll have a laxative effect if you eat too much. But I can handle being prisoner in the bathroom so long as I can have chocolate. ^__________^ I have plain Hershey’s Chocolate, Chocolate with Almonds, Nestle Turtles, and finally a package of sugar-free, low carb Caramel BBs from the bulk foods area of the Farmer’s Market.

GreyIt is back up! Congratulations, Nicky!! Woot! Guttertalk is back! *glomps to the Gutter-Crew and mega-glomps to Nicky* I can’t tell you how much I missed that board!! I guess I was really was hasty putting up Club Guttersnake, which is really kind of embarrassing. Like I said before, I hope I didn’t step on any toes when I put that up. Also looks like Karsh from GreyIt is getting a blog, which I’m also really happy to hear.

I gave up on trying to replace 4Images as my Gallery; everything else was far bigger than I needed, only had what I needed in a version I had to pay for, or had security holes you could have driven the Death Star through. Instead, I began playing with 4Images, trying to figure out how I could do what I wanted to do. I finally figured out how I could give GBC or Legacies Members free reign to put whatever they wanted without waiting for me. (Ookami, I’ve set up your account in my Gallery so you can do that now…) So I’ve been trying to figure out how to skin it during my free time today. From the website, it’s obvious you can - but the templates are driving me buggy. I’m not sure what Template Variable does what, where as eFiction and GreyMatter make the variables fairly obvious, this one has ones called “clickstream”, “msg”, and “if msg” that I have no idea what they produce. I thought the “msg” tags might be to put in site news, but there’s no function in the script to do that. Add to that, there’s 30 some odd templates I’d need to edit. X_x I’m still looking for something easier, but I’m not having much luck. One I really liked turned out to be immense when I went to download it; larger than a few of my MP3s, so I canceled the download. I tried a couple of the various auto-thumbnail creators, but one turned out to be as large as the monster gallery and the other said it was complete and ready to install, but the installation instructions had me going to other sites to download even more files, so I gave up on that. So my Artists will just have to continue to provide their own thumbnails, which I don’t think isn’t too big an inconvenience.

I give up on 4Images. *growls* That script is a pain in the ass to use and it’s caused me to crash one too many times. Adding categories is like pulling teeth and I can’t do anything else while I’m doing it, or else things will start going wacky. I’m split between two different scripts right now, one from Sourceforge and the other from a company. So far I seem to be finding better scripts on Sourceforge, so I think I’m going to go with that.

I offered Swiftgold and She-Ronin spots on my fanfic area; I really hope they bite. I know another archive to update to keep updated might be a bit much, but Sharra said they’d keep it in mind. Now Jass and I really want to invite a few others. I’m not sure who, though. I suppose I could ask the other mods, invite them if they have anything and ask who they’d suggest. Jass has been contemplating asking Isabel Night, but he keeps chickening out just before he sends the PM. I’m not too sure about inviting her too; I just don’t know her. Thing is, I’ve done a little advertising and now I want to begin adding a few more authors. I just don’t want to open things up to just anyone. I made this archive as an answer to Fanfiction.net and Media-Miner.org; I don’t need a million reviews to tell me I’m a fairly good writer, I just want a place to post my fics and visual junk without limits and without idiots. I’d rather remain small and keep a high level of quality than the alternatives I’ve been seeing around the web.

EDIT: OMG! O_o The Sourceforge Gallery is 2MB in size! Screw that idea…!

It’s new layout time. I love Kid to death, but everyone else is getting new layouts. And to that end, I’ve found the most nifty image from The Last Unicorn… it’s an ink drawing of Mommy Fortuna, Rukh, and Schmendrick the Magician creeping up on the Unicorn. It’s really creepy; perfect for an October layout. ^_^

In the meantime, Periods suck. Good lord, I hate cramps and I hate moodswings and I’ve been having both. I’m not fit company for anyone right now, nor was I when I was just having regular PMS. Spent most of my time yesterday either on the couch or in bed. >_> Plus that, I have to get a doctor’s appointment in the near future… blegh. My cousin, Julie, - who is also my hair stylist - noticed my hair was a whole lot thinner this last haircut and even ended up getting wads of hair when she combed it. She warned me that hair loss like that could be a sign of a medical problem and advised me to get an appointment. Plus that, I think I have a Yeast Infection so double blegh. Oh well, it is time for a checkup.

Spent this morning playing with Tempus Temporis on my Archives. I totally give up on FF.net and Media Miner…. FF.net was gone for me this morning and Media Miner completely slaughtered the spacing in my stories. Most of them are just one long paragraph now, and I simply don’t have the patience to go back and edit them. I fixed Tempus Temporis before I simply gave up. Reviews are nice, but I lived without them before those two sites came along. Besides, I can always do a Mailing List for my fics ^_^

I’m slowly switching my e-mail away from Hotmail. I opened up my Sallyjedi account yesterday and had 150 pieces of Spam in my Junk Mail Folder. X_x Even my Firefall_Varuna account is getting it now. I found out there’s a vulnerability in Hotmail that allows spammers to actually use MSN’s own servers to send Junk to Hotmail members. So, I’m going to start moving things over to Yahoo and my Lunaescence.com Mail servers. I can always turn Spam Assassin on if it gets too bad.
