Well, our fate is sealed. Wednesday, July 27th, we’ll be going out for dinner with Sheba. Then, on the 31st, we’ve been invited to go for a sort of impromtu family reunion at a local diner.

But at the very least, we won’t be alone with her. Maybe she’ll behave. ^^;; (Wishful thinking on my part.)

I’d like to offer my sincerest thanks to Bevey for the offer to come down and visit her for the week. Sorry we couldn’t accept. *HUGS*

College is kicking my ass, though not too hard. I only have one week of class left for Human Relations and then I move on to the next batch. The extra financial aid should be coming in sometime during the next month, so we can do the new computer thang. I keep pricing factory built machines so I can get the best deal so maybe I can get some extra software. (Photoshop would be very nice!) Hopefully with two more computers we can stop fighting over the one we have.

The only thing I wish for is a decent digital camera, but I doubt I’ll have that much money left over. Lately, I’ve been posting my photos to Deviant Art and I’m getting some pretty neat reactions. ^_^ They’re so old, though, that I don’t really have any of my notes for them anymore. It’d be so much easier to simply import photos from a camera than waste the time and money for development. This latest layout actually cost me money to make, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Anyway, I should get off so Mom’s the one at the computer when Sheba calls. :-P

1. Magus aka Prince Janus (Chrono Trigger)
There’s just something about anti-heroes that appeals to me and Magus fits the bill. He’s a tall, dark, brooding wizard who looks like an elf (bonus!) Maybe I’ve been looking at too much Japanese fanart of him, but darnit, I find him hopelessly sexy.

2. Rowen (Ronin Warriors)
Ah, the first character I ever fanticized about having sex with back so many years ago. Frankly, it’s not often a girl can get some real, intellegent conversation and frankly Rowen could deliver. You also know that thanks to all those martial arts moves he’s gonna have a body under that armor. I’d do him in a heartbeat for old times sake.

3. Ban (Get Backers)
You gotta love a guy who can get inside your head. With his Evil Eye, Ban can make his victim either experience one minute of unspeakable horror or one minute of pure bliss. You choose. ^_~ Like Magus, he’s tall and mysterious, but he’s got his funny side too.

4. Dais or Anubis (Ronin Warriors)
The second and third characters I ever dreamed of having sex with. Anubis fits the anti-hero bill, Dais fits the mysterious. They’re both tall, dark, warriors skilled at what they do and they’re obviously intellegent. You also know they’re going to have a hot bod under that armor. I can’t really decide between the two, so they’re tied for fourth place.

5. Prince Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Yet another exiled prince. Like Magus, he’s another brooding anti-hero who’s skilled in the manipulation of fire. Even though he tends to be a bit rude, he’s also charismatic, elegant, and mysterious. And you gotta admit, any guy who can pull off a ninja act is pretty damned hot. He gets last place mainly because he’s underage. ^^;;

My new layout is giving me all kinds of fits.

LOL Yes, another. XD This layout was just temporary until my photos came back.

Anyroad, I’m attempting to pull of a really cool CSS trick where I make it look like I’m using frames when I’m not. The middle area is supposed to scroll while the area outside is supposed to remain static. I even created a nice mouse-over navigation… though I couldn’t make it anywhere as sophisticated as the first time I saw one like it.

I have the layout working. In Firefox at least. I found out only after I’d lost my temper that IE doesn’t support fixed positioning. >_>

I searched through Google and found a few different work-arounds and I managed to get it looking a little better. Not great, but a little. The whole thing came together just as fast as my old Poison Paradise layout and I love it just as much. Which grates at me because Poison Paradise worked on everything, this thing won’t work on IE.

…. and I just realized that I really need to get working on my homework, but this is far more interesting. ^^;;

Had a checkup today with Nancy at the diabetes center and found out I did a bit too well on my control. My A1c came back at 5.9% - which she said was a bit alarming. Once again, I had my insulin dose adjusted.

Basically that means that the bouts of hypoglycemia I’ve been experiencing are edging towards dangerous levels. It gets too low and I may end up in serious trouble. In fact, when I walked into the center today, my blood sugar was down to 43 mg/dL (2.38mmol/l). I really should be 70 - 120, which is a bit too low for my own good.

Anyway, courtesy of my doctors I came home with something new: a free vial of Lantus insulin. I also had the offer to take an introductory pumping class, though I took a raincheck so I can see how I do on Lantus first.

Hopefully they’re right and this will make me feel more normal. I’m not sure what that means, but I do have to admit I have been feeling pretty weird lately. The results from my A1c probably explain it a bit.
